VISION STATEMENT

Individuals and families reclaiming Iyiyiu/Iinuu identity by awakening and nurturing the spirit within.

Mission Statement

The Miiniwaachihiwaaukimikw/ Healing Lodge team guides individuals, families and communities to attain Iyiyiu/Iinuu miyupimaatisiiuun

A framework for delivering a land-based wellness recovery centre

The Miiniwaachihiwaaukimikw Healing Lodge aims to deliver a land-based wellness recovery centre that will offer both Iyiyiu/Iinuu and mainstream clinical approaches. It will include 20 beds, with four beds designated for inpatient detoxification services, and will employ a holistic person and family-centered approach, providing culturally safe and trauma-informed care. The program will run from 30 to 90 days, depending on client needs. Target clientele are adults 18 and over.

It will also provide specialized services that aim to reduce, treat and prevent the problems related to substances and addiction (alcohol, legal and illegal drugs), including gambling.

The Healing Lodge building is expected to be completed and opened in 2026 in Chisasibi.

Beneficial land-based projects for the community

In the meantime, the Miiniwaachihiwaaukimikw team will be developing land-based gatherings and workshops (independently and in collaboration with the Nishiiyuu departement.) More details regarding Land-Based projects will be provided soon.

As we are in the development phase of designing the programs and services, we are facilitating a process of validation and acceptance from all stakeholders internally and externally. It is our intent to be inclusive, transparent, collaborative and to provide engagement strategies that clear the way for the consensus of people in Eeyou Istchee.

Updates and announcements will be provided as soon as they become available.
