DYP support for evacuees situated outside Eeyou Istchee due to forest fires
Cree Department of Youth Protection has no authority in regions where forest fire evacuees are situated. The DYP in those regions will intervene.
It has come to our attention of situations where reports are required to be made to Youth Protection in the regions where evacuees are situated.
Please be aware the Cree DYP has no authority in those regions, and it will be the DYP in those regions that will intervene. We do have an agreement that we will provide assistance, and we will do our best to provide this support.
We ask the parents with children to take extra precautions in the care of your children. Your children's security and development rests with you and always ensure your children are supervised and properly cared for.
