The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) extends its deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones affected by the devastating event that occurred on Thursday afternoon near Chapais, in the Nord-du-Québec region. Our hearts are with all the communities during this difficult time.
According to the Sûreté du Québec, an accident between a van and a minivan occurred early Thursday afternoon on Highway 113, just outside Chapais, resulting in five deaths. At this time, we are unable to provide details as investigations are ongoing. Our priority is to support those impacted by this event. We assure that we are actively cooperating with authorities and will provide updates as soon as we have more information.
