Yâkwâmi, Drive Sober – Community Roadblocks on June 10, 2022

Drivers will receive a coaster and sticker from Eeyou Eenou Police Force with the words “Drive Sober”, as a courtesy for their cooperation.
Uschiniichisuu are encouraged to find alternatives to drinking and driving or driving high such as assigning a designated driver, calling a taxi or staying at home if they plan to be under the influence.
The Cree Board of Health and Social Services James Bay launched the first Yâkwâmi, Drive Sober campaign in December 2021 which encourages and educates youth on the dangers of driving under the influence. The campaign continues with the support Eeyou Eenou Police Force (EEPF).
