Inauguration of Piipiichaau Uchishtuun (Robin’s Nest) in Waswanipi

The Piipiichaau Uchishtuun (Robin’s Nest) Women's Shelter in Waswanipi will be formally inaugurated at a ceremony to take place on Monday, September 25 at 11 am, 1 Jackpine Street West.

This project is a collaboration between the  Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) and Cree Nation Government (CNG). Piipiichaau Uchishtuun (Robin’s Nest) will support essential services to Cree women in Eeyou Istchee. CBHSSJB, CNG and Quebec government officials have been invited join in this special occasion. Community members are also invited to join in this community celebration.

Piipiichaau Uchishtuun (Robin’s Nest) Women's Shelter will offer the following services:

●    A safe and secure environment, 24/7

●    Emergency and crisis management 

●    Culturally safe healing 

●    Linkages with other available services in the region
