The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) and Air Creebec have their clients and communities’ interests at heart. In collaboration, efforts and, more importantly, actions are being taken to ensure services to Whapmagoostui are optimal.
Certain regulations imposed by Transport Canada require adjustments be made to the CBHSSJB shuttles to ensure less flights be canceled at the last minute. Air Creebec and the CBHSSJB are working diligently to increase reliability and frequency of flights.
The health and wellbeing of the community members is the main target for the air charter service. Therefore, the passengers who require transportation for medical appointments and CBHSSJB medical personnel or staff will be a priority. Eligible family members can travel as there is space available as the health of our patients is the main concern.
Furthermore, Air Creebec is currently reviewing to change the schedule to increase the flights into Whapmagoostui during the month of December for the passengers who do not qualify for the CBHSSJB shuttle. The number of flights into the community is always dependent on how many passengers need the flights.
All solutions are being reviewed by Air Creebec and the CBHSSJB to ensure the best possible service is obtained for your community.
