Dr Danielle Perreault, a family physician working with the CBHSSJB since 1995, has been honoured with the rank of Chevalière de l’Ordre national du Québec. She received her insignia, on June 22, 2018, during an official ceremony held in the Legislative Council Hall of the Hotel du Parlement in Québec City. This is the highest distinction bestowed by Québec's Government. Every year, a handful of Quebecers are honoured for remarkable achievements in their respective fields.
Dr Perreault has dedicated her career to improving the health outcomes of people living in remote communities. Residents of Whapmagoostui, Waswanipi, Chisasibi, and Ouje-Bougoumou have benefited from her presence and medical care throughout the years.
Dr Perreault has also worked abroad in New Guinea, Sierra-Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Georgia and Vietnam. She was on the forefront in the fight against the deadly Ebola outbreak in West Africa in 2014-2016 where she worked with the International Red Cross.
We are proud to count many remarkable physicians such as Dr Perreault in the ranks of our organization.
