April 19, 2017

Amy Diamond, a Cree Nurse from Waskaganish, was nominated for the Health Canada 'First Nations and Inuit Health 2017 Award of Excellence in Nursing' by the Director of Professional Services and Quality Assurance Health/Regional Nursing Department of the CBHSSJB.

The final three winners will be announced on May 8, 2017. Our organization is proud to nominate Amy Diamond for this award. She has shown her commitment to excellence in her nursing practice. Amy Diamond has been working for the CBHSSJB in Chisasibi Hospital since 2007, and is currently a team leader in Emergency care. She says the most rewarding part of her job is to see the gratitude Cree patients have when they see a Cree nurse taking care of them. She loves her profession, her colleagues, the stability of her team, the mutual respect between nurses and doctors in the hospital and the fact they can rely on a dependable staff.
