Pharmacy

What is it?

Pharmacy services, staffed by professional pharmacists and assistant pharmacists, deliver prescribed medications to clients. The Chisasibi pharmacy also covers the need for hospitalized patients.

Who is it for?

The Pharmacy is for anyone needing prescribed medication or having questions concerning their medical treatment.

Where is it offered?

There are three pharmacies staffed with pharmacists in Eeyou Istchee, in Chisasibi, Mistissini, and Waskaganish. In the other communities, pharmacy services are supplied through local CMCs and via connections with the three main pharmacies.

What is it like?

Getting your medication from the pharmacy is simple. You go to the pharmacy or CMC where your prescription medication will be prepared and given to you. Pharmacists can also explain the medication to you or answer questions you might have.

How long does it last?

Pharmacy services are permanent essential services. Your prescriptions from the pharmacy will last as long as prescribed by your physician.

How can I get this service?

You can get medication from the pharmacy or local CMC with a prescription from a physician.

Where can I learn more?

You can get more information and have questions about medications answered by talking to your local pharmacist or CMC.
