Wîchihîwâuwin Helpline Sees Record Number of Calls

More people than ever are reaching out to the Wiichihiiwaauwin Helpline for support. 

In 2025-2026, the Helpline answered 2,803 calls, a 60% increase from the previous year. This growth shows that more people across Eeyou Istchee know about the service.

People called for many reasons, including mental health concerns, suicide risk, housing challenges, family issues, and other difficult life situations. These calls remind us that everyone faces challenges and that no one should have to face them alone. 

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Helpline provides free, confidential, and culturally grounded support.
