The Chisasibi Dental has welcomed Colin Perusse Crowe and Savannah Shem. They are two dental assistants who are already making a big difference for patients and staff.
Colin brings a calm and steady presence to the clinic. He is a hardworking and reliable team player who is always ready to help. He listens well and helps patients feel comfortable. He also checks in with his coworkers to make sure they are doing well, helping create a caring team environment.
Colin shared, “Working as a dental assistant has been a great experience. Every day, I have the privilege to help patients with their dental health.”
Savannah brings enthusiasm and warmth to her work. She prepares treatment rooms, assists chairside, and helps patients. She always approaches her role with care and positivity. Her sense of humor helps patients and colleagues feel more at ease and creates a welcoming atmosphere throughout the clinic.
“I enjoy being a dental assistant that brings comfort, care, and confidence to every patient. I also love learning as I go,” said Savannah.
PATH TO SUCCESS
Colin and Savannah both completed the CBHSSJB Dental Assistant Training in November 2025. The 10-week program consists of 4 weeks of theory and 6 weeks of clinical practice. Throughout the training, they demonstrated an exceptional level of commitment in order to earn their certificates.
After that, they started working full-time at the Chisasibi Dental Clinic. Both are thriving in their positions, applying the knowledge and skills gained during training to help patients and support dental services in their community.
That’s not all, the two of them are eager to keep learning and are even considering returning to school to further develop professionally.
OUTSIDE WORK
After hours, Colin feels most grounded when he’s surrounded by nature. He enjoys walking through the woods and spending time by the water, both of which also keep him active as physical activity is an important part of his everyday life. At home, he is dedicated to his loved ones and takes pride in looking after them.
As for Savannah, she treasures each moment spent with her family. In addition to her gentle and nurturing presence, cooking is one of her favorite ways to show love and she puts care into every meal. Her home is often filled with the comforting scent of traditional dishes simmering on the stove.
The Chisasibi Dental Clinic is thankful to count these young professionals among their dedicated team to support the delivery of quality oral health care.
