Reduced services at pharmacies this summer
Joshua Loon explains the situation of reduced pharmacy services this summer.
Our valued clients can expect delays for all services provided by the Pharmacy Department. This is due to severe shortages of staff in the entire region and the rest of the province.
Commitment to quality services
The Pharmacy Department strives to ensure quality services to all our clients and is committed to tackle the staffing shortage issue during these challenging times.
4 things clients can do to help ensure quality of service

1. Call your pharmacy for your renewals 1 week before you run out of medication
This will give us time to prepare your refills and reduces the pressure on our team.
If possible, ask your pharmacy team for 3 months' supply of your regular pills.

2. Allow for a 24 to 48 hour delay for a preparation of a compounding medication
Compounding medication is personalized medication which is prepared to meet the specific needs of a patient, such as cream or syrups.

3. For your safety, always bring all your pillboxes (Dispill) medication package along with your new prescription
This will reduce the risk of mixing up your daily pill-taking schedule.
A delay of Dispill package preparation may occur but will vary by community.

4. Give us time to prepare orders of new prescriptions
The preparation time may vary.
If you:
-
drop off before noon, your order may be ready after 4pm
-
drop off after noon, your order may be ready after 11am the next day (during working days)
We thank you for your help to provide the best and safest service possible.
