Deanne Moore named Assistant DPSQA Psychosocial
The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay is proud to announce the nomination of Deanne Moore as Assistant Director of Professional Services and Quality Assurance (DPSQA) Psychosocial. She joins the management team of Chloe Nahas, DPSQA.

Deanne is an Indigenous Social Worker with the CBHSSJB since 2018. She has dedicated herself to advocating for a trauma-informed, holistic, and decolonizing lens in social work. She has spent time on the front lines as a clinical advisor for regional psychosocial services and in various roles within Cree Foster Home Services and DPSQA Psychosocial.
Originally from Moosonee, Ontario, Deanne left her community to pursue studies in social work in order to one day give back within the James Bay territory. She completed an Honours Bachelor of Social Work at Laurentian University and currently working on her Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto, specialized in trauma and resilience. She is a registered social worker in Ontario and Quebec.
Deanne is also a performing artist, a passion that began as a young child as a singer/songwriter. She released her single “Not Waiting Anymore” in October 2020 and the song reached #1 on the Canada iTunes charts. Music was a beacon of hope during her childhood and spoke of raw experiences with messages of empowerment and resilience. Deanne is a mother of two and wife to Thomas. They reside in the Cree Nation of Wemindji.
