This week, the Cree Nation of Chisasibi is hosting "Masters of Our Own Health", a 3-day event giving community members a chance to learn about various health topics and the many resources and initiatives available to improve their health.
The event is the idea of Clarence Snowboy, Local Director of the Chisasibi Community Miyupimaatisiiuun Centre (CMC) of the Cree Health Board. The organizing entities, in addition to the CBHSSJB, are the Cree Nation of Chisasibi, the Youth Council, and Eeyou Eenou Police.
Come and check out the booths and presentations by miyupmaatisiiuun experts in our community, including our Elders, doctors, nurses, nutritionists, physiotherapists, Reggie Tomatuk from Public Health's Environmental Health Program, and the fitness centre trainers.
Dates: 3 days, January 31-February 2, 2017 from 1pm to 9pm.
Location: Chisasibi Mitchuap. The booths will be set up in the fireplace area of the Mitchuap, and the presentations will take place in the auditorium.
