In May, every household in Québec, including the communities of Eeyou Istchee, received an envelope in the mail with information about Dossier Santé Québec (DSQ). This information was sent in French only by the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS).
What’s it about?
Dossier Santé Quebéc (Québec Health Record) will attach an electronic medical file to the person’s RAMQ number. This system will make the Quebec healthcare system work more efficiently. For now, however, the DSQ is implemented in some parts of the province only.
Do I need to do anything?
YES. To prepare for DSQ implementation, every Cree beneficiary must ensure that he or she has a valid RAMQ card.
How can I find out more?
English translations of the material sent in the mail can be found online at www.dossierdesante.gouv.qc.ca or by calling Services Quebec at 1-877-644-4545 (toll free). For persons with a hearing or speech impairment (TTY, toll free): 1-800-361-9596.
