The CBHSSJB welcomes Sarah Cowboy as the new Assistant Commissioner of Complaints and Quality of Services

August 12, 2016

The CBHSSJB welcomes Sarah Cowboy as the new Assistant Commissioner of Complaints and Quality of Services. A Waskaganish nurse with 22 years’ experience, a Cree speaker, and a manager who understands how services are organized and delivered at the community level, Sarah has an excellent skill set for the position of Assistant Commissioner. She will work in partnership with Louise Valiquette, the interim Commissioner of Complaints, who is a lawyer and labour relations specialist.

Sarah Cowboy will be based in Waskaganish, and in August 2016 she will join the Chairperson of the CBHSSJB, Bella M. Petawabano, on her current tour of Local Annual General Assemblies, explaining her role to the public and also being available for confidential one-on-one meetings with community members who want to file complaints or just give feedback and suggestions to improve Cree Health Board services. Upcoming stops on the community tour are August 22 in Nemaska, August 25 in Chisasibi and August 30 in Eastmain.

Any CBHSSJB client wishing to discuss a situation or file a complaint can call this toll free number: 1-866-923-2624 (leave your name and a call back number)
