Cree Health Board clients and staff flying on CHB charter flights have tastier and healthier options for on-board meals, starting September 11.
“We realized the old menu did not meet our expectations nor, more importantly, the expectations and needs of our clients. We heard them and made changes we believe they will love as much as we do,” explains Nathalie Beaulieu, head of Northern Operations Centre (NOC).
“Our goal is to offer our clients the best experience possible. In particular, we needed to adjust in order to to serve them something that not only tastes much better, but is also healthy and safer for our diabetic patients.”
The improved menu was a joint effort initiated by the NOC, with the involvement of the public health nutritionist, Air Creebec and the catering staff. "Lunch boxes have fresh fruits and vegetables, healthier options for bread products are used, milk is offered and sugar, salt and fat contents are reduced. The meal boxes abide by the recommendations for the Canada food Guide," says Lilian Kandiliotis, a Regional Public Health Nutritionist.
The menu is on a weekly rotation to ensure that passengers that travel on a regular basis get different meals week after week.
