April is Oral Health Month and a time to celebrate the work of professionals who help us keep our teeth and gums healthy. From April 4 to April 10, 2022, the Cree Board of Health and Social Services is proud to acknowledge National Dental Hygienists Week.
Dental Hygienists play an important role in oral health by providing critical services, like regular check-ups, cleaning, and counseling. They work in CMCs and at the regional hospital and also visit schools to offer their services.
We would like to thank all Dental Hygienists in Eeyou Istchee for the care they provide. Your contribution is essential to the prevention of oral disease and the achievement of Miyupimaatisiiun.
“I’d like to take the advantage of Oral Health month to congratulate Dental Hygienists and all the members of our dental teams at CBHSSJB and highlight their excellent work. As dental health professionals for the entire population of Eeyou Istchee, their mission is to offer clients the best service in a timely manner, to welcome them, to listen to their needs, explain their treatment choices, help them to take the best decision about their treatments, and deal with emergencies as quickly as possible. They are competent, safe and they work with professionalism.
Congratulations to all my superheroes!! I am extremely proud of you.” -Nicole Jolin – Head of professional services DMAS
