Summary

If the COVID-19 pandemic made access to routine healthcare more difficult, it also opened up new opportunities for digital health.

November 29 to December 5 is Digital Health Week. To mark the occasion, the Cree Health Board is promoting telehealth services, which are available in all communities across Eeyou Istchee.

Although a personal consultation with a physician or specialist is a fundamental part of care, many clients benefit from online services. Access to telehealth means our clients can consult with a physician or a specialist without leaving the territory. This is an important benefit for clients who are unable to take time off or have mobility issues. Specialists have access to the client's medical charts and a nurse or technician attends the consultation if tests are needed.

Did you know?

In 2020, about 2,995 Eeyouch and Eenouch accessed our telehealth services.

All consultations are confidential.

The Cree Health Board is dedicated to the implementation of a telehealth consultation service that aims to simplify access and limit travel for members of our communities.

Whether in-person or online, our goal is to ensure that our clients receive culturally safe services and care at the right place and the right time.
