Workplace outbreak in Region 10 (Chibougamau/Chapais): No changes for Inland Travel
CBHSSJB Public Health is closely monitoring a COVID-19 workplace outbreak in Region 10’s Chibougamau/Chapais sectors. There are 7 confirmed cases connected to the outbreak, which was traced to an industrial sector workplace.
Region 10’s Public Health department has completed its contact tracing investigation; no Cree contacts have been identified. All positive cases are in preventive isolation. People with a lower risk of exposure are being tested for the virus.
There are no additional travel restrictions at this time for inland community members who need to go to Chibougamau for errands or other essential reasons. Public Health recommends anyone travelling to Chibougamau to remain cautious, avoid visits in other households, and practice precautionary measures when entering a business or store.
