| Full Text | Sweet Blood is a 1-hour Cree language film with English and French subtitles, filmed in 2008 in several communities of Eeyou Ischee. Sweet Blood tells the stories of Cree people who are making changes in their lives to manage diabetes. Their journeys show us that everyone has a unique path in reaching a healthy balance in life, and that every step counts. This film was designed as a tool for health care workers and people living with diabetes, but it is also useful for families, friends and young people who are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Produced by Shirley Cheechoo of Spoken Song Productions, the film was selected Best Public Service film at the 2009 American Indian Film Festival. With the exception of bulk orders, the video is free for aboriginal communities in Canada. Click to order online or download the brochure.
