| Abstract | There is a link between poor housing conditions and poor health. The literature review found that studies conducted around the world show a strong association between poor housing conditions and poor health. Home dampness and moulds lead to respiratory problems, decreased immunity and headaches. Mites lead to allergies and worsening of asthma. Mycotoxins from fungi have been reported to cause renal (kidney) failure and encephalopathy (brain damage). |
